The Peanut Project, Inc. is a Central Indiana nonprofit dedicated to providing essential supplies, comfort, and dignity to children from birth through age 17 entering foster care, kinship care, and other out-of-home placements.

Through thoughtfully prepared emergency placement kits, we help ensure children have access to clothing, hygiene products, personal necessities, and comforting items during difficult transitions.

Our mission is simple: No child should have to face a new beginning without the essentials they deserve.

Because every child matters. Every circumstance matters. And every new beginning deserves a little hope.

What's Inside Our Emergency Placement Kits?

When a child enters foster care, kinship care, or another out-of-home placement, they may arrive with little more than the clothes they're wearing.

At The Peanut Project, we believe every child deserves the comfort of having something of their own.

Our emergency placement kits are thoughtfully prepared for children from birth through age 17, with age-appropriate essentials that may include:

Clothing: Pajamas, socks, underwear, and everyday outfits.
Personal Care: Toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, and other hygiene necessities.
Infant & Toddler Essentials: Diapers, wipes, formula, bottles, and age-appropriate supplies.
Comfort Items: Stuffed animals, blankets, books, and activities.
Everyday Necessities: Age-appropriate items to help children feel prepared and supported.

Each kit is designed to offer more than supplies. It's a small reminder that someone cares, that they matter, and that they haven't been forgotten.

How You Can Help

The Peanut Project, Inc. relies on the generosity of individuals, families, businesses, and community partners to help provide essential supplies to children entering foster care, kinship care, and other out-of-home placements throughout Central Indiana.

Donate Essential Items

We welcome donations of new and gently used clothing, along with new hygiene products, diapers, wipes, baby supplies, blankets, comfort items, and other age-appropriate necessities for children from birth through age 17.

Make a Financial Contribution

Monetary donations help us purchase urgently needed supplies, fill gaps in our inventory, and prepare emergency placement kits for children of all ages.
